A light meter for photographers and cinematographers, built around your iPhone's camera. Point it at a scene and it gives you a working exposure — shutter, aperture, ISO — the same way a handheld meter would, plus tools built for motion work: shutter angle, ND in stops, false color, and a LiDAR rangefinder.

Any iPhone on iOS 17 or later — metering only needs the camera. The LiDAR rangefinder is the one feature that needs specific hardware: it only works on iPhone Pro models with a LiDAR scanner, and only out to about 16 ft (5 m), which is the limit of the sensor itself, not something we can extend in software.

Reflected only, the way you'd point a spot meter at your subject. A phone can't take an incident reading without a diffuser dome over the lens, so we're upfront about that rather than pretend otherwise. Tap-to-spot lets you place a shadow or a face at middle gray for the same result a lot of reflected-meter work is built around.

Settings → Calibration has an EV offset trim. Meter the same scene with both in steady light, note the difference, and dial the trim until they agree. The offset applies to every reading after that.

Holding a reading locks the camera to the exact exposure you've dialed — not a simulation. The viewfinder shows the real thing: highlights blow out, shadows crush, exactly as they would at those settings. A readout tells you how far over or under you are, and all three dials stay adjustable while you hold.

Photo mode reads in shutter speed and aperture. Cine mode swaps those for shutter angle and iris, adds frame rate, and gives you ND in density notation (0.3–3.0) instead of filter factors. Same meter underneath — just the vocabulary and controls a camera department actually uses.

That's iOS, not us. Apple requires the "Allow Screen Recording" prompt once per app session whenever an app can record its screen, and there's no API to suppress it. It only appears the first time you record after opening the app — not on every recording.

No. There are no servers, no accounts, and no analytics or ad SDKs in the app. Your camera feed, saved frames, and location are processed on your iPhone and stay there. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
